The GDP of Afghanistan : Afghanistan’s nominal GDP was $ 21.7 billion in 2018, or $ 72.9 billion by purchasing Power Parity (PPP). It has a per capita GDP of $ 2,024 (PPP). Its having $ 1 trillion or more in mineral deposits, it is one of the least developed countries in the world. Afghanistan’s rough physical geography and its geo-status have been cited as the reasons why the country has always been the least developed in the modern era – a factor where contemporary conflict and political instability also slow progress. The country imports goods worth more than $ 7 billion but exports only $ 784 million, mainly fruits and nuts. It is $ 2.8 billion in external debt. The services sector contributed the most to GDP (55.9%), followed by agriculture (23%) and industry (21.1%).
