Under the new rules, the terms and conditions for issuing NOC (No Objection Certificate) on the sale of international roaming SIM cards, global calling cards to foreign operators in India have been changed.

The Department of Telecom has given the facility to all citizens to have a maximum of 9 SIMs. But citizens of northeastern states like Assam are allowed to have a maximum of 6 SIMs.
