Ola Electric will start deliveries in these new cities, know whether your city is on the list

Ola Electric is set to expand its delivery network beyond Bengaluru and Chennai as well. The EV startup has announced that the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will now be available for delivery to customers in other cities like Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Visakhapatnam from next week.

Ola Electric CEO and co-founder Bhavish Agarwal made this announcement late on Thursday night. He said, “Answering the most popular question – yes, deliveries are on. It is wonderful to see customers happy with their Ola scooters. Last week in Bangalore, Chennai. Vizag, Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and many more cities this week And next week.”

Ola Electric started deliveries of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters earlier this month on December 16, after a delay of nearly four months from their August 15 launch. The EV manufacturer organized special events to deliver the scooter to the first 100 customers in Bengaluru and Chennai.

Priority delivery is based on an automated scientific approach to meet the overwhelming booking and purchase response from customers across the country. Which decides the delivery handover according to their purchase date, variant, location, colour and other factors. The company has rolled out the Ola S1 scooter from its manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.

Launched almost four months ago on August 15, Ola Electric had booked two days for the scooters in September. After which the company claimed to have a staggering Rs 1,100 crore business.

How much is the price?

The Ola electric scooter is available in S1 and S1 Pro trims. While the S1 variant of the Ola electric scooter costs Rs 1 lakh, the S1 Pro variant costs Rs 1.30 lakh. This price is ex-showroom and before state subsidy. The price of this electric scooter will also vary depending on the subsidy given in different states of the country for electric vehicles.

Driving range and speed?

The Ola S1 variant can cover a distance of 121 km on a single full charge. Whereas the S1 Pro variant can cover a distance of up to 181 km after full charging once. The S1 variant accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.6 seconds. Whereas the S1 Pro variant can catch a speed of 0 to 40 kilometres per hour in 3 seconds. At the same time, the top speed of this scooter is 115 kmph.

Features

Both the S1 and S1 Pro models come with a slew of features. The scooter is keyless and can be started using the mobile phone app. Multi driver profiles can be created in this. In future, the company may enhance many features like parental control and geofencing through app updates. Proximity sensors are available in this scooter, that is, the scooter will be unlocked as soon as you reach. The Ola scooter also comes with GPS and connectivity options with the option to open and close the boot.

50% charging in 18 minutes

Ola Electric’s Hypercharger charges the E-scooters battery from 0 to 50 percent in just 18 minutes. This will charge the scooter’s battery enough to cover a half-cycle range of 75 km. The company’s website gives a complete list of cities in which the charger will be installed and most of Tier I and Tier II cities will be covered under its charging network. The hypercharger stations will get a multi-layered layout so that scooters of multiple customers can be charged simultaneously.
