Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from the Yogi Adityanath government of UP, along with Akhilesh Yadav

Swami Prasad Maurya has resigned from the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh. He was the Minister of the Labor Department in the Yogi government. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has informed about Maurya joining the party.

Swami Prasad Maurya has claimed that the ‘impact of his resignation will be visible after the 2022 assembly elections’.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has started ‘trying to persuade’ him. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has appealed to him to ‘sit down and talk’.

Swami Prasad Maurya informed about his decision on Twitter on Tuesday. Maurya has also posted a letter addressed to the Governor on Twitter.

In this he has written, “As the Minister of Labor, Employment and Coordination, despite living in adverse circumstances and ideology, he has discharged the responsibility with great dedication, but the Dalits, backward, farmers, unemployed youth and small-small and medium-class traders I resign from the Yogi cabinet of Uttar Pradesh due to the grossly neglectful attitude.

‘Leadership did not listen’

After announcing his resignation, Maurya also answered the questions of the media. Maurya claimed that he had raised these issues even with “big leaders” of the party but nothing happened.

Maurya said, “Raised the matter on the appropriate platform. The matter was heard but nothing happened.”

Maurya left the Bahujan Samaj Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016. He has been elected MLA five times in Uttar Pradesh. His daughter Dr. Sanghamitra Maurya is a BJP MP from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP MLA Roshan Lal Verma reached Raj Bhavan with Maurya’s resignation letter. Verma is the MLA from Shahjahanpur.

Verma told the media, “The resignation has been sent by email.” But he has come to the Raj Bhavan with a hard copy.

Roshan Lal Verma told that his leader is Swami Prasad Maurya and he will also take some decision soon.

What did Akhilesh Yadav say?
After leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party, Swami Prasad Maurya has ‘joined the Samajwadi Party.

Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav gave information about Swami Prasad Maurya joining Samajwadi Party.

Akhilesh Yadav wrote on Twitter, “Heartfelt welcome and greetings to the popular leader Shri Swami Prasad Maurya Ji, who fought for social justice and equality and all other leaders, workers and supporters who came with him in SP!

Stir in BJP
Swami Prasad Maurya has taken this decision at a time when the important meeting of BJP is going on on Tuesday. Home Minister Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanath are participating in this.

Terming Swami Prasad Maurya as a “big and effective leader” of the backward classes, analysts tracking the politics of Uttar Pradesh are claiming that his separation before the elections could prove to be a setback for the BJP.

Perhaps this is the reason why the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party have started trying to persuade Swami Prasad Maurya.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote on Twitter, “I don’t know why respected Swami Prasad Maurya has resigned. I appeal to him to sit and talk. Hasty decisions often prove to be wrong.”

When Maurya was in the Bahujan Samaj Party, he used to attack the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

What did Swami Prasad Maurya say?
Swami Prasad Maurya spoke to the media after resigning and claimed that how many more leaders would leave the BJP with him, it would be clear in the next day or two.

He said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party government has given a shock to many. If I am giving a shock by resigning then what is the new thing.”

Maurya claimed, “Dozens of MLAs will come now. You keep looking forward and ahead.”
