West Bengal to reopen schools from classes 8 to 12 offline classes in colleges from 3 Feb

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that classes VIII to XII would reopen from February 3 due to improvement in the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the state.

CM Mamata Banerjee has said that colleges and universities will also resume their offline classes from Thursday i.e. 3rd Feb 2022.

Addressing a press conference here today, the CM of West Bengal said that colleges, universities and polytechnic institutes would also reopen on that day.

“We will decide on reopening primary schools later,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee said that the condition of Covid-19 in the state has improved a lot, due to which some relaxation is being given.

Relaxation in Covid curbs, night curfew timings changed

The West Bengal government has also announced a relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions in the state. Now, instead of 10 pm to 5 am, a night curfew will be enforced in the entire state between 11 pm and 5 am.

Restaurants, bars and cinema halls will operate at 75% capacity. The CM of Bengal has said that parks and tourist spots will also reopen with the Covid security protocol.

The West Bengal state government has also said that all daily flights from Mumbai to Kolkata and from Delhi to Kolkata will be operated. UK-Kolkata flights will resume normal operations subject to RT-PCR test reports carried by passengers.
